SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred one Kashmiri youth during a continued siege and search operation in Uri area of Baramulla district.

The veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, in a statement in Srinagar, strongly denounced the arrest of innocent youth by Indian police after the forceful demonstrations across the Kashmir Valley against blasphemous film in the US. He demanded immediate release of the illegally detained youth.

Addressing a meeting of his party activists in Srinagar, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, urged India to give up intransigence and take practical measures for resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations. He maintained that the unparalleled sacrifices offered by the Kashmiri people would not be allowed to go waste and the ongoing liberation movement would be taken to its logical conclusion at all odds.

Another APHC leader, Zafar Akbar Butt, addressing public gatherings in Bagh-e-Mahtab and Channapora areas of Srinagar condemned in strong terms the recent sacrilegious film in the US.

The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, left Srinagar for New Delhi, today, for his onwards journey to Geneva where the 21st session of the UN Human Rights Council is underway. He will participate in seminars, debates and deliver lectures on Kashmir on the occasion.

On the other hand, complete shutdown was observed in Kupwara district against the screening of a blasphemous film at a school in Lolab by the Indian army. Despite heavy deployment of Indian troops and police, people took to the streets in Dooniwari, Cheerkote, Potushai, Lolab, Trehgam, Kralpora, Handwara and other areas and staged demonstrations against the incident.

End.
