Several Hurriyet leaders arrested in IHK

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have arrested and placed under house arrest several Hurriyet leaders and activists in Srinagar, today.APHC leaders, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Zafar Akbar Butt were restricted to their residences in Srinagar to prevent them from going to Shopian to visit the aggrieved family of a 20-year old youth, Aaqib Ahmad. The youth was tortured to death by the Indian troops in the area on Tuesday.
On the other hand, the authorities arrested Hurriyet leaders, Yasmeen Raja, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Farooq Ahmad Dar and Muhammad Ahsan Untoo in Pampore while they were on way to Shopian to express solidarity with the relatives of the victim youth.
Complete strike was observed for the second consecutive day, today, in Shopian against the killing of the youth. Clashes were also reported between Indian troops and protesters.
