Butt lauds Musharraf`s 4-point formula
22 May, 2007
SRINAGAR: Senior APHC leader, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, while addressing people at Idgah in Srinagar, lauded Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf for finding a way to settle the Kashmir dispute once and for all.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Professor Butt said that four-point formula put forward by the Pakistan President based on demilitarisation, self-governance, joint-management and opening all the roads across the Line of Control (LOC) could pave the way to resolve the Kashmir dispute on durable lines.
He said that demilitarisation would lead to the withdrawal of troops from Kashmir and joint-management would make it possible for India, Pakistan and Kashmiris to handle some issues jointly.
"By opening all the roads, people from both sides of the LOC will be able to travel freely and there will be no restrictions on the movement of Kashmiris," said Professor Butt.
