KARACHI: Former Prime Minister Mir Zafar Ullah Khan Jamali has said President General Pervez Musharraf has not nominated Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain for the office of president of ruling PML.

" President General Pervez Musharraf has not nominated Chaudhry Shujaat or some one else for the presidentship of ruling PML. If he has done so, it is not in my knowledge. We believe in elections and will accept whosoever is elected in election", he said this while talking to the journalists after his meeting with Pir Pagara in Kangri house Saturday.

He stressed that PML presidentship should now go to smaller provinces from larger province.

He went on to say that personal efforts and character of Arbab Ghulam Rahim has contributed to his elevation to the office of chief minister. "I have always found him a man who adheres to his traditions and keeps his words. I have no complaint of any sort against him", he added.

Responding to a question about charter of democracy, he said that it was not a charter of democracy and rather it was embarrassed democracy The real democracy can come to the country if the leaders sitting outside the country give importance to their workers by leaving aside their personal interests, he added. As far as the matter of return to the country is concerned Benazir, Nawaz Sharif and Altaf Hussain must come back to Pakistan as it is their own country, he remarked.

If both Nawaz Sharif and Benazir let their parties function freely by keeping them outside it will be better for the nation and the country, he held.

He said, he was eligible to contest the election for the office of PML president. There is no bar on him to contest this election as per party constitution, he added.

Earlier, Mir Zafar Ullah Khan Jamali met president PML-Functional Pir Pagara in Kangri house and exchanged views with him on the election for PML presidentship and other matters.

Acting governor Sindh and speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Muzaffar Hussain were also present on the occasion.

Sources told Online Pir Pagara assured his full support to Jamali for contesting the election for the office of president of PML.

Talking to the journalists after his meeting with Jamali in Kangri house, Pir Pagara said only governor rule is future of Sindh assembly. I have earlier identified it. I don’t know the point of conflict between MQM and Arbab Ghulam Rahim. Both the parties have approached the President for reconciliation. Whatever, decision is taken by the President will be a correct decision, he added.

To a question, he said neither the MQM nor chief minister Sindh have approached me in connection with ongoing crisis. Therefore, how can I get the matter resolved. People of Sindh should think why the present system has been paralyzed.
