ISLAMABAD: President Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Wednesday said he did not see the formation of a grand alliance of opposition parties but only election alliance would be formed. “We are not going to form the grand opposition alliance, but the only an election alliance,” he said while talking to media persons at the Parliament House prior to attending the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Judicial Appointments. He said the PML-N would not join the future election alliance of the opposition parties. Shujaat said it was a political mistake of the PML-N to expel the PPP from the Punjab government after three years. “Shahbaz Sharif will realise when only 150 members will remain with him,” he said. To a question on the unification bloc in the Punjab Assembly, Shujaat said their future was gloomy. When asked about the proposal of the Punjab chief minister for summoning the meeting of political parties, Army and judiciary, Shujaat said the Army and judiciary were not invited but only meetings would be held with them. To another query on the mid-term elections, he said his party was not in favour of any mid-term elections. “We do not want that one of the two parties to portray itself as a martyr,” he remarked. End.
