PM announces Rs 100,00 each for the families of Pakistani pilgrims killed in Iraq

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Monday sanctioned Rs 100,00 each for the families of the Pakistani pilgrims who were killed in Iraq on August 31. He made this announcement in his meeting with Sardar Bahadur Ahmed Khan Sehar, MNA from NA-181 who called on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz at the PM’s House. Sarday Bahadur Sher informed the Prime Minister that 9 Pakistanis pilgrims who were killed in Iraq recently belonged to his constituency. He told the Prime Minister that they had gone to Iraq to visit the religious sites and were the breadwinners of their families and are now in need of help. The Prime Minister expressed his condolences over the tragic demise of the pilgrims. The Prime Minister sanctioned Rs. 1 lakh each for the bereaved families. Later on Sardar Muhammad Ali MPA also called on the Prime Minister and thanked him for the unprecedented development work carried out in Attock district during the tenure of the present government. He said that the network of roads and provision of gas, electricity and health facilities for the people of Attock, which is a particularly underdeveloped area, has started positively impacting the life of the people. He thanked the Prime Minister for the priority and special focus on this particularly underdeveloped area. The Prime Minister said that is gratifying to note that benefits of economic growth have started reaching the common man. He said that the "Rozgar Scheme" recently launched by President Pervez Musharraf would further improve the living standard of the people.
