ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Iraqi Prime Minister Dr Ali Allawai called on President Asif Ali Zardari here on Wednesday. Matters pertaining to cooperation between the two countries in the areas of oil and gas, power generation and agriculture development came under discussion.

The President said Pakistan was ready to assist Iraq by further building on the existing relationship. Dr Allawai said the government and people of Iraq looked forward to President Zardariís visit to Iraq.

Ambassador of Iraq, Kais Subhi Al-Yacoubi; Minister for Water and Power, Raja Parvez Ashraf; Advisor to PM on Finance, Shaukat Tareen, and Adviser to PM on Petroleum, Dr Asim Husain were also present during the call.
