ISLAMABAD: Former military dictator Pervez Musharraf is main cause of internal differences in ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) source said on Sunday.
The decision on whether or not to allow Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf to travel abroad seemed to have divided the opinion of PML-N, as it failed to evolve a consensus on the issue.
Sources said the PML-N leaders split into two groups with one insisting on the immediate removal of Musharraf's name from the Exit Control List (ECL) while the other opposed this idea.
Sources said that federal interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has soft corner for Pervez Musharaf while others like Pervez Rasheed, Saad Rafiq, Khawaja Asif and others have different point of view.
Chaudhry Nisar have also differences with finance minister Ishaq Dar as he believes Dar did not take him onboard while making key decisions, sources said.
Sources said that Chaudhry Nisar have contacts with Imran Khan's PTI leadership which unwelcomed by other members.
Captain Safdar's absence is also giving strong signals sources said adding that some party members complain that PM Nawaz Sharif does not give time to them.
Sources suggested that the gulf between party leaders feared to be widening after Eid.
