KARACHI : The City District Government Karachi (CDGK) is going to sign an agreement on Tuesday (July 18) with the Malaysia, Dubai and Indian consortiums to build a sky-high 46 storied 'IT tower and call center' building here at a local hotel.

The City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal on behalf of the CDGK will sign the agreement with the foreign firms to build it nearby Civic Centre Karachi within two years.

This is the first ever-joint venture between the CDGK and any foreign firm to construct a building in the city. A foreign architectural company has made the design of the building.

The 46 storied building has been named the 'IT tower and call centre'. The building will also have the capacity to generate 25 percent electricity of its total power consumption through solar energy.

The building will also have a call centre of 10,000 seats, a shopping mall, a food centre, swimming pool, a mini-hotel of 50 rooms, a car-parking lot to place more than 2100 vehicles, an automatic car-parking ramp, a library, four cinemas, an auditorium, and guest room to accommodate around 66 persons at a time. While, five floors will be reserved for the CDGK' offices in the building.

It will also have all modern and basic facilities on its various tiers for the general public. Mustafa Kamal hoped that the completion of the project would help generate jobs for around 40,000 skilled youth in the city, besides giving impetus to economic activities in the metropolis.

The City Nazim said that the construction would not only augment the information technology sector in Karachi but would also stimulate the IT sector in the country. He said it would bring about an 'economic revolution' in the country.
