KARACHI, March 10 (Online): MQM parliamentarian and minister of state for religious affairs Dr. Aami Liaqat has allegedly purchased fake degrees of Masters in Islamic Studies, Masters in Business Administration and PhD from 'The Trinity College and University, Spain which is an unrecognized university, besides the university is not included in the list of recognized international universities available with Karachi University, reports Karachi based Urdu Daily.
In a stunning investigation by the Urdu Daily it has been documented and proved that Dr Aamir purchased fake University degrees to contest the 2002 general election, forced the Karachi University officials to authenticate these degrees in a single day and prevented any investigations by the newspaper to dig deep into the unavailable records at the University.
The newspaper, however, persisted with the three-month long probe and was able to obtain the copies of the "University" degrees Dr Aamir used to make himself eligible to contest the election for a National Assembly seat on the MQM ticket from Karachi. He won because of the party ticket and when MQM joined the Musharraf coalition, he was made Minister of state for Religious Affairs in the cabinet.
Dr Aamir did not have a graduate degree in 2002 and according to the investigation he surfed web site in Spain, The Trinity College & University, which boasts about providing Bachelors, Masters or even Doctorate degrees, without attending any class or college. "Everything by Email" the web site of the College says right on top with the big slogan: "Get your degree today."
Dr Aamir purchased his "Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies" degree (Serial No: P-2002227 Dated March 17, 1995), got his "Master of Arts in Islamic Studies" degree (No: P-2002341 Dated March 15, 2002) and his "Doctor of Philosophy in Islamic Studies" degree (No: P-2002528 Dated April 5, 2002).
The newspaper reports claims that the minister of state for religious affairs Dr. Aamir Liaqat secured his PhD degree in just three weeks after his Master's degree, if the documents are to be believed.
Karachi based Daily Ummat contacted the Karachi University authorities to find out how these web site Email degrees were authenticated in a single day, in writing, by the then registrar of Karachi University, Prof. NM Aqil Burney. The registrar received the application from Dr Aamir on August 24, 2002, days before filing of his nomination papers for the NA election and authenticated his degrees through letter No PA/2002 Dated August 24, 2002.
Prof. Aqil, however, did leave some elbow room by stating in his letter that the authentication was "provisional" and the final decision would be conveyed to the applicant in due course of time. That decision was neither needed nor taken nor conveyed to anyone as Dr Aamir had used the provisional certificate to get himself elected to the Parliament and the matter was pushed under the rug.
When the newspaper contacted Prof Aqil later to ask how he could issue the authentication without referring the documents to the Equivalence Committee, he admitted that Dr Aamir had come to him with degrees from some Trinity College Spain and he authenticated them on the pot.
Prof Aqil kept no record of these degrees and when the newspaper contacted the current registrar to verify whether any such record was kept, no one could trace the file, as none existed.
When the newspaper contacted the Higher Education Commission in Islamabad, the official authority on the matter, to verify whether the Trinity College & University of Spain, which issued the degrees to Dr Aamir, was a recognized institution by Pakistan, Director General Mohammed Javed Khan informed the newspaper vide a letter Dated February 23, 2005 that the Trinity College was not recognized. The letter confirmed the forgery of Dr Aamir and abetment in the forgery by Prof Aqil to facilitate his candidacy in the election.
Daily Ummat also obtained copies of the degrees Dr Aamir presented to the Election Commission and during the investigation found that the Trinity College and University, Spain had placed exactly similar samples on its web site, offered the same day for a price.
The investigation leaves Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain and General Pervez Musharraf in an embarrassing political dilemma. Musharraf has been promoting Dr Aamir as the heir apparent of Altaf Hussain himself and the way his curve was rising was creating serious apprehensions within the MQM circles as well.

i just waanasay that its the inability of the people who undermine such a great man and abuse him without considering their own deeds. He is the man who has changed a lot of people esp. new generation and drected them towards Islam--He arose the spirit of islam among people and love for the religion as well as Drood-e-Pak!
In my opinion it is such a great deed that only a few can do this!
i want to ask those who criticise him that if they had ever talked about Islam in such an enthusiastic way as he does?
I believe the answer would be "NO"
So i think we shouldnt criticize such a great man...
Rather we should act upon his sincere advices regarding our beloved religion Islam!

Fake from Day 1 |
I saw this from Day 1 and I saw that his acting skills are appreciable. There are too many people out there who believes that Aamir Liaquat Hussain (ALH) is a hero. Well, buddies listen to him and see if he ever uses any reference from Quran. All in all he can refer to is all those self-made stories and acting.
For those who are blaming all mohajir, barelvi community are also at mistake. I agree that one fish makes whole pond dirty, but consider all those good people who did a lot of efforts for Pakistan. Living in Karachi, I never called myself Mohajir, I am Pakistani (though many times I had disadvantage of being so)
I was shocked when mushi made this guy minister, Courts in Pakistan should take action against it.
For the lovers of ALH, I just pitty them, including some of my family members who condemned me so much for criticizing ALH.
If we people use a little bit of brains than we come to know that all he says is nothing but crap.
I just hope that someday some event will reveal his identity much clearly so that those people who still believe in him, would learn a lesson.
Some people say that why he is still on TV? so buddies, this is simple economic questions, coz the TV time is sold to advertisers thanx to you brainless souls.
In the last, a request from my side, PLEASE READ QURAN WITH TRANSLATION and decide by yourself, who is right? Quran or ALH?

I follow the news greatly I was watching this story closely but it seems like that this matter is also pushed under the rug as any other thing in Pakistan, and at this exact point in time I can see him in his TV program talking about Islam, how can this liar be allowed such a critical position???? is our countrymen and leaders dead or blind???? things like these will lead people to the ultimate destruction.. someone from the government needs to do an inquiry and it should be a public and open inquiry... he should be brought in front of public and he should either present the proof of his innocence or should resign ...

Fake degrees |
It has become apparent without doubt that Mr Aamir Liaquat has bought bogus degrees in order to advance his political career and as such should be suspended from his position in the government.
There is no room for liars and such people n public office.
However a bigger blunder by Musharuf should also be noted here; that is to nsist in the first place that degree requiremnet is necessary for people to contest public elections. I personally don't beleive that degrees as label confer knowledge on people however lies and lies from people who claim to represent us in public platform is a disgrace and needs condemnation.

Masuri Tribe Announce to take revenge from Bugti's
PAKISTAN; BALOCHISTAN (QUETTA) March 19, 2006; The tribal elders of Masuri Tribe in a recent Jirga on late Saturday evening have decided to take extract revenge from Akbar Khan Bugti's Tribe for the March 10 incident in which 37 persons were blown up by a land mine planted by miscreants.
They have also announced to form a 300 men strong force for this purpose. Hundreds of members belonging to Masuri tribe have returned to their native area despite warnings by rivals, tribal.
The announcement has come nine days after 30 people were killed and seven critically injured when their vehicle was hit by a landmine. Amongst the dead were mostly innocent women and children, who were going to attend a marriage ceremony
The marriage party was going to the Lakri village from Bekar, two small towns in the area. A total of 37 people were traveling the trolley.
The victims belonged to the Masuri tribe, the opponents of Akbar Bugti's Tribe.
The blast happened hours after rocket attacks on a gas field in the Dera Bugti area but there was no casualty. The unidentified people fired 30 rockets on the Loti gas field.
Members of the Masuri tribe were expelled from the area in the 1990s, confiscating their homes and lands by Akbar Khan Bugti. The government had settled the dissidents in parts of southern Punjab, but they returned to their areas last month.
There have already been a series of attacks on gas pipelines, security personnel and installations of gas production companies in which several people have been killed during the past few weeks.
A senior government official on condition of anonymity has disclosed that such attacks could increase in the coming days. But we are on alert and have made elaborate security arrangements for the protection of life and state owned properties.
President of Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz have already announced last
week that writ and authority of the government will be enforced at every cost adding that no individual or group can hold hostage the people of entire province.

Like almost most human rights organizations around the world, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) claims to be a non governmental, non political and non profit organization whose stated mission available on its website is:
„« ¡§To work for ratification and implementation by Pakistan of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other related charters, covenants, protocols, resolutions, recommendations and internationally accepted norms.
„« To promote studies in the field of human rights and mobilize public opinion in the favor of accepted norms through all available media and forums and to carry out every category of activity to further the cause.
„« To cooperate with and aid national and international groups, organizations and individuals engaged in promotion of humans rights and to participate in meetings and congresses on human rights at home and abroad.
„« To take appropriate action to prevent violations of human rights and to provide legal aid and other assistance to victims of those violations and to individuals and groups striving to protect human rights.¡¨
Prima facie, this appears to be very noble mission but when examined in the light of the statements of its chief office bearer, one begins to have doubts about the motives and intentions of this organization. In a recent interview published in the 6th February 06 issue of the Indian magazine ¡¥OUTLOOK¡¦, Asma Jehangir, the chairperson of the HRCP made a complete mockery of human rights by justifying the Indian government¡¦s concerns about Balochistan by insisting that, ¡§If Pakistan can take up Gujarat riots, surely India can raise the Balochistan issue¡¨. One can imagine how happy this would have made people like the former Chief Minister of the Indian state of Gujarat Nirendera Modi and how hurt would be the victims of the anti Muslim pogrom to hear one of their sisters in faith justifying the genocide. During the same interview Ms Jahangir magnanimously absolved India of being involved in fomenting trouble in Balochistan, while she mysteriously chose to remain silent on the gross abuse of human rights by the tribal sardars on their hapless serfs. The dispossession of the unfortunate Kalpars and Masoories from their ancestral lands also eluded her radar screen, which ostensibly misses nothing. After having read the interview, one is left with an utter sense of indignation and niggling unanswered questions: Why does Asma Jahangir justify the stance of the Indian establishment against that of her own country¡¦s government? Is it within her mandate as the chairperson of the HRCP to ask for foreign intervention in the internal affairs of her own country? After all whose interests is she serving? Lastly, whose rights is she championing, namely the unfortunate common people of Balochistan or the despotic tribal sardars?

one of the prophecies of the our prophet p.b.u.h. is that near the end of times,the true religious scholars will be extinct and there place will be occupied by illiterate and fake "aalims"and people will follow them. well so far the prophecy is true,and truth shall prevail.dont u see him, and recognize the satin in his eyes,a clean shaven aalim,who is making mockery of our religion....that any one can come up and pass comments on our religion....it's such a shame for pakistanis that so many well learned scholars are pushed to a side and forced to live a life of secrecy because their ideas are not acceptable to the satanic governmental policies.....how many scholars have lost their lives....thier beloved ones,silently,and we have witnessed the wrath of ALLAH afterwards......and now we are following this fake doctor.....

He is simply an imposter! last ramadhan b4 the 27th nite there was an add campaign on GEO TV that Dr.Amir liaqat would hold a special program on the nite of the lailatulqadr and it would end with roh parwar dua.
I saw that program and at the end Dr.liaquat was crying and praying and the TV Special effects were showing Makka n Madina. at first i though he was addressing all the people being shown, i was realy impressed!
but a afterwards i realised he was sitting alone in the TV Studio and crying at the top of his voice.
I really thought that was pure hypocracy. He was doing exactly what was advertised by GEO TV for many days before the event!! U just cannot program and stage manage a "Roh Parwar Dua" can u ??
one more thing! I saw him once on a political talk show and he was just shouting as the other politicians.

It is absolutely a fake degree. This is not like the online correspondence degree where you actually have to do effort/work to get it. You just pay a few dollars and they'll get you whatever you want: robes, student id, degree, whatever. You can even get a degree in bathroom manners if you wish. "Dr" Amir is just another charlattan, out to impress the jahil masses, who hardly know anything about the religion!
