Islamabad, Nov 30 (Online): Total number of 17,331 intending pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia. Of them, about 12,111 were airlifted to Jeddah and 5,220 to Madinah Munawwarah .

According to a press release issued by Ministry of Religious Affairs Zakat and Ushr, 184 out of 230 Khuddam-ul-Hujjaj have also reached there to assist the pilgrims and to accommodate them in their buildings. Three batches of 150 doctors and paramedical staff have reached Saudi Arabia so far and set up dispensaries at Jeddah, Mukkah Mukkarmah and Madina Munawwarah for providing medical assistance to the pilgrims .

About 4,350 pilgrims are expected to fly to Saudi Arabia on 1st December, 2006 in 15 flights. About 1,000 will depart from Islamabad in 3 flights, about 900 from Karachi in 4 flights, about 1,000 from Lahore in 3 flights, about 600 from Peshawar in 2 flights and about 500 from Quetta in 2 flights. One flight will be operated from Multan with about 115 pilgrims on board .
