LONDON: On Friday night,MQM Chief Altaf Hussain had addressed his supporters and the media in a televised press conference. During his address, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain said a conspiracy to break Pakistan apart was in full swing, our sources reported.

He said this while talking to newsmen in a video-press-conference held in London. His presstalk continued for at least 3.5 hours, in which he feared he might me killed for standing against the enemies of Pakistan.

"I maybe killed because I am a hurdle in plans of dividing Pakistan" he said. He also showed a map of the region in which Pakistan was divided. He asked all the followers of his ideology to work with Pakistan Army to save Pakistan.

May 12 tragedy:
He accused Jamat-e-Islami (JI) of paying Haqiqi activists to open fire on an MQM rally on May 12 to fuel the violence, which took place in Karachi on that day. He demanded that action be taken against the JI's militant wing 'Thunder Squad'. He added that 16 MQM workers were killed while 65 were injured on May 12.

Altaf demanded international inquiry into May-12 mayhem because the Supreme Court is also a party in this case. The MQM leader said, "I don't know who placed the containers on Karachi roads on May 12".

On the Charter of Democracy (COD) Altaf said that both Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) and Nawaz Sharif had failed to implement it calling it a document of false promises.

The MQM chief also quoted the Chief Justice as stating that his court had issued several orders but they were not implemented. "If you make a decision against the MQM then it might be implemented", he said.

Awami National Party (ANP) accused:
Accusing the present ANP leadership of misguiding Pakhtuns, MQM chief said ANP chief Asfandyar Wali was provided several million dollars by the US to win the 2008 elections.

"If I was against Pakhtuns then why did they support MQM across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when it (MQM) announced a day of mourning", Altaf said.

Karachi violence:
He said that innocent people were tortured and slaughtered by terrorists in the past days.

"If I were not the chief of my party then I would have either been killed by someone or had killed someone else because I was so distraught", he said during his address. He called on the President, Prime Minster, Army and ISI chief to view a torture video made by the criminals of the Lyari Aman Committee to find out for themselves what was really going on.

He said the terrorists kidnapped/slaughtered innocents and bagged them up in gunnysacks. 'I cordially condole with the bereaved families who lost their sons to target killings.'

'I'm going to disclose things, which no can dare to, that too with hard evidence. I'm talking to those who found their children's dead bodies with their throats slit and bodies tortured.' He criticized Human Rights champions for being hypocrites.

While replying to the allegations raised by certain quarters of becoming a Mohajir party from Muttahida he said what would you do when they (criminals) cull Mohajir passengers on board a minibus, let the non-Mohajirs go and then, after locking all doors, set it ablaze turning the ones trapped inside to ashes.

False history:
He added that the history of Pakistan which was being taught to youth was false and the country was far from the vision of Jinnah who was a secularist and spoke of equality for all.

Zulfiqar Mirza criticized:
Without mentioning any names Atlaf Hussain criticized the acts of Zulfiqar Mirza who had placed Holy Quran on his head during his news conference. Altaf Hussain said Allah revealed the holy book for us to read and understand and not for such things. He during questions and answers session denied to reply to Mirza's allegations.

Cristisicm to media:
If any news anchor says that we would not allow MQM to remain sole government of Karachi it is total dictatorship, he said.

While replying to a question he said: "We can support PPP for the sake of peace in Karachi. Both Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari are my brothers".

The lengthy press conference of MQM Chief Altaf Hussain, which was to start at 05:00 pm, began at 07:36 pm and ended at 11:04 pm.

End.
