Advani lauds Pak measures to reconstruct minorities' worship places

NANKANA SAHIB, June 04 (Online): Lauding Pakistan government's untiring measures to reconstruct and renovate out-dated minorities' worship places in the country, Indian opposition leader L K Advani said that he could not forget the love extended to him during his visit to Pakistan.

He expressed these views here Friday while addressing Sikh Sangat gathering. "The government of Pakistan has taken very good initiatives to invite me to inaugurate the construction of Katas Mandr," he said adding that these steps would go a long way to boost Pak-India relations.

Sardar Mastan Singh while talking on behalf of Sikh Sangat informed Advani that Gurdwara Janmstan was the birthplace of Sikh religion founding father Baba Gru Nanik who was born in 1469.

He went on to say that a Muslim farmer donated over 700 acre lands in the name of Bab Gru Nanik. He briefed Advani in detail regarding the importance of Gurdwara Janmstan and seven others related Gurdwaras.

Earlier, L K Advani his wife Kamila Advani, son J Ant Advani, Gitka Advani and other guests were received with warm welcome. They were received by district Nazim Tawakalullah Virk, Tehsil Nazim Pir Mumtaz Ali Shah, Hassan Ahmad, DCO Sheikhupura Sheikh Zafar Iqbal, additional SP Umar Farooq and others.

Later, L K Advani and his delegation were taken to Gurdwara Janamstan amid tight security where they performed religious rituals.
