Razia appointed Captain of Pakistan Women Hockey Team

ISLAMABAD: Razia Malik has been appointed Captain of Pakistan women hockey team to participate in the Asian Games Qualifying Round at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from June 4 to 11. This was announced by Pakistan Hockey Federation Women Wing (PHFWW) Secretary Parveen Gill at the National Hockey Stadium here on Friday. She said Razia was the most senior player of the team and the PHFWW maintained its policy to appoint the senior most player to lead the national side in international events. Thirty-three teams will play in the qualifying round and the first four-position holders will play in the Asian Games to be held in Doha, Qatar in December this year. SQUAD: Tahseen Safdar, Saman Rashid (Goalkeepers), Lina Afroz, Aqeela Naseem, Nadia, Sanam Yousaf, Aamna Mir, Saima Afzal Asia Sadiq (Full Back), Razia Malik, Rabia Qadir, Uzma Lal, Amna Awan, Azra Nasir, Neelama Hassan, Benish Hayat, Shumaila Hafeez, Sonia Khan (Forward). Standbys: Rizwana Yasmeen, (Goalkeeper), Iram Bukhari (Full Back), Rabia Sarwar, Saman Islam, Sidra Younis, Aneela Khan (Forward). Barrister Shahida Jamil will be theChef-De-Mission and Parveen Sikandar Gill will be the Chief Manager & Deputy Chef-De-Mission of the squad. The names of other officials are:- Ghazala Tariq (Assistant Manager), Nasir AM (Chief Coach), Shaista Javed (Judge), Zaib-un-Nisa (Assistant Coach), Huma Imtiaz (Physiotherapist), Razia Rizvi (Umpire).
