Pak hockey team off to Malaysia

KARACHI: Pakistan hockey team Tuesday left for Malaysia to participate in the 16th Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey tournament scheduled to get underway from May 5-13. Before leaving for Kuala Lumpur from Karachi, Captain of Pakistan hockey team Rehan Butt told host of journalists that in the event Pakistan will concentrate on team combination. “It is totally a new outfit so as this stage I cannot make any promises of winning but all the players will work hard”, he said. On the other hand, Manager of Pakistan Hockey team Islahuddin said that hopefully Pakistan will perform well. The Manager announced that they are planning to play a practise match against Argentina on May 3. Pakistan will open their campaign against hosts Malaysia on May 5 in a group that also includes Canada and South Korea.
