Musharraf`s book most contradicted of any dictator: PML-N

LONDON: General Musharraf’s recent book seems set to become the most contradicted book by a military dictator in history said Nadir Chaudhri spokesman for former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
In a statement released here Tuesday he said the book had been contradicted even before being released by no less a person than President Bush who feigned ignorance of the US threat to bomb Pakistan "into the stone age" at the joint press conference with his `most trusted ally’. Then it was Richard Armitage, the person supposed to have delivered this threat who denied having made it he said.
The spokesman said Atal Behari Vajpayee, Jaswant Singh and many others had followed since but now General Musharraf’s own course mates from the army were calling him a liar. He referred to the recent statement of General (Retired) Ali Kuli Khan in this regard.
He said General Ali Kuli Khan had debunked Musharraf’s account of the Kargil disaster in the book saying it was flawed in terms of conception, tactical planning and execution and that it had damaged the Kashmir Cause; being a disaster bigger than the East Pakistan tragedy. Coming from a former colleague and course mate this was a damning indictment of Musharraf added Nadir Chaudhri.
Nawaz Sharif’s spokesman said the former Prime Minister had demanded that a commission of inquiry be constituted on the Kargil disaster from the very outset and it had been General Musharraf who had been avoiding this demand. It could only be that he wants to hide the facts about his role in this affair but after the publication of his book it had become vital that this be done without delay, he added.
The spokesman also referred to the contradiction issued by the daughter of Dr AQ Khan about the events narrated in Musharraf’s book regarding her father saying it was one more contradiction in a long list that could lead to a record.
