ISLAMABAD, August 06 (Online): This was consensus among all the speakers in a condolence reference held here under ruling PML that late Shah Fahd had adopted a firm stance on festering issues of Kashmir and Palestine besides playing a vital role in consolidating Pak-Saudi Arabia relations and forging unity and harmony among the Muslim countries.

Besides PML secretary general Mushahid Hussain Sayyed, former foreign minister Gauhar Ayub, charge'd affairs of Saudi embassy in Pakistan, Abdul Nasir Al-Hadi, state minister Waseem Shahzad, Muhammad Ali Durrani and others spoke on the occasion.

PML secretary general Mushahid Hussain said late Shah Fahd was old friend of Pakistan. Shah Fahd had played vital role in strengthening Pak-Saudi Arabia ties and fostering harmony among Muslim Ummah which could not be forgotten.

Shah Fahd had pursued a firm stance on Kashmir and Palestine issues. " We have closer ties with new King Shah Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and he will also utilize all his capabilities in this regard", he hoped.

He informed that recommendations on reforms in OIC and security council would be presented in the meeting of Islamic Scholars taking place on September 11. Islamic countries would have to unite and activate the role of Ummah.

Former foreign minister Gauhar Ayub Khan said Pakistan was maintaining good friendly relations with royal family and construction of Faisal mosque in Islamabad bears testimony to it.

PML vice president Abdul Majid Malik said Pakistan is very grateful to Saudi Arabia for extending economic, political and diplomatic assistance.

Saudi charge d affairs Abdul Nasir Al-Hadi hoped both the countries would continue to support each other.

Late Saudi King Shah Fahd's funeral prayer in absentia were offered in Faisal Mosque here on Friday.

Thousands of people attended the absentia funeral prayer of late King Shah Fahd bin Abdul Aziz.

Fateh Khawani was also offered for the peace of late Shah Fahd's soul.

Speaking on the occasion, Khateeb Faisal Mosque said that Shah Fahd mosque would be constructed in the new campus of Islamic University, Islamabad.

Shah Fahd mosque would accommodate more than 30,000 Nimazis at a time, he noted.

He said six million dollar would be spent for the construction of the mosque.

He noted Rs 2.5 million have been collected by Islamic University's authorities, employees and students for the construction of Shah Fahd Mosque.

He also appealed to people to collect more funds for the building of the Mosque.
