Ashura processions being taken out

KARACHI: Youm-e-Ashur processions are being taken out across the country amid strict security measures, our sources reported.
In Karachi main procession of Muharram 10th (Ashura) emerged from Nishtar Park after a grand Majlis there.
The Ashura procession after passing through its traditional routes will conclude at Imam Bargah Hussanian Iranian in Kharadar.
Arrangements for free meals and drinks have also been made at different places in the way of procession for mourners. Many small and large processions will also join the main one on its way to Imam Bargah Hussanian Iranian in Kharadar.
Strict security measures have been adopted to avert any untoward incident. Helicopters will perform air surveillance of the procession.
Heavy contingent of police, Rangers and personnel of intelligence agencies have also been deployed in the routes of procession.
Officials and volunteers of fire brigade, bomb disposal squad, scouts and welfare organizations besides staff of district and provincial governments will also be present.
Close circuit cameras have also been installed to monitor the processions.
In Quetta main Ashura procession emerged from Amaldar road and is passing through its traditional routes amid strict security measures.
In Hyderabad main procession took out from Qadamgah Mola Ali and would terminate at Karbala Gam-e-shah.
Ashura processions are also being taken outs in small and large cities of the country.
Yaum-e-Ashur‚ the 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram, is being observed today (Sunday) with due solemnity to commemorate the great sacrifices rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions at Karbala for the supremacy of Islam and to uphold the truth.
Mourning processions will be taken out in all cities and small towns throughout the country.
Heavy contingents of police and para-military Rangers are deployed in cities and towns all across the country while Army has been called in many cities.
The Army has been put on high alert at all the major cities while army contingents would be deployed on 9th and 10th of Muharram in Hangu, Kurram Agency, Gilgit and various cities of Punjab.
Shops along the routes of the processions have already been sealed while a passage would be kept open for joining the processions, and anyone would only be allowed to join the processions after going through frisking and passing through walk-through gates.
