Army's morale is high, to face all challenges, asserts COAS Raheel

ISLAMABAD: The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif, on Monday said the Pakistan Army will never allow a handful of terrorists and extremists to dampen its resolve to deal head-on with them and other security challenges.
General Raheel expressed this determination during a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. The army chief said the Pakistan Army was fully equipped to tackle any challenge posed by the enemies of Pakistan.
The premier telephoned the Army chief General Raheel Sharif in the wake of a suicide bombing near the General Headquarters (GHQ) and discussed the overall national security situation with him.Sources said the prime minister and army chief expressed concern over the sudden rise in the incidents of terror.
The premier condemned the RA Bazaar blast that resulted in the killing of security personnel and many others. He said such cowardly attacks could never weaken the resolve of 'our law-enforcement agencies and the nation to continue their struggle against militancy and terrorism'.
The premier urged the nation to unite against the enemies of Pakistan. He said the whole nation was united on the issue of terrorism, adding that the sacrifices of security forces for the country and the nation would not go waste.
