APMA urges Govt to protect Christians

ISLAMABAD: Demanding protection and security of Christians, All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA) has urged the government to arrest the real perpetrators who are behind the threatening letters written to the Christians of Charsadda and accelerate efforts to curb the growing religious extremism. Chairman APMA, Shahbaz Bhatti in a statement issued on Sunday has expressed grave concern on the procedure of investigation of Charsadda police, who claimed “ a fifth grade student wrote the message on the wall. He said that the boy denied his involvement in writing threatening letter sent to the Christians community of Charsadda, giving them ultimatum to embrace Islam with in 10 days otherwise face dire consequences. Bhatti said that it is the duty of government to protect the life and property of its citizen including minorities and should not allow extremists to jeopardize the law and order situation in Pakistan and challenge the writ of government.
