KARACHI: ZTE Corporation of China, a leading telecommunication equipment and network solution provider, has announced to introduce low-priced and qualitative mobile hand-sets across the globe.

In this regard, the corporation has geared up it efforts and started contacting multi national companies of the world. It is expected that the company would present new mobile sets equipped with latest technology for sale in market by the end of this year.

General Manager ZTE Pakistan, Salman Malik told journalists at the venue of ITCN Asia 2007 that the company had made considerable progress in research and development during last two years, owing to this the corporation had included in the top five companies of the world.

He said that that previously the company was providing telecommunication equipment and network facilities, however, now it had made some fundamental changes in its policy and decided to enter into mobile manufacturing sector.

He opined that due to the advent of the company in Pakistan, tough competitive environment had emerged in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the ZTE Corporation demonstrated its latest technologies at ICTN Asia 2007.

ZTE booth has attracted lots of visitors and potential customers during the event.

As gold sponsor, under the theme of "Stronger Together", ZTE unveiled its extensive portfolio of latest technology achievements including; Wireless Network Solutions (GSM/GPRS/WCDMA/HSDPA, IMS), Fixed-line 3G Multimedia Networks (DSL/EPON/GPON/IPTV/Digital ome/Optical/Data/BOSS) and full range of Mobile Handsets (GSM/WCDMA/CDMA/FWT) and Data Cards.

The main attraction of the event has been the display of live Real 3G Wireless Experience, which created an exciting interaction for ZTE visitors for the first time in Pakistan. The live demonstrations include ZTE product series and services based on 3G: High-speed HSxPA, Streaming Video, Mobile Videophone, Mobile Video Monitor etc.

Salman Malik, General Manager ZTE Pakistan, speaking at the ICIT Conference, highlighted the importance of social, environmental and cultural issues along-with exponential growth that we witness today in the Pakistan's telecom industry.

He also stressed the role ZTE has played in the international and local markets to bridge the digital divide by offering quality innovative solutions at an affordable price.

ZTE Pakistan has established itself as a leading telecom innovator with focus on research and development. It has over 1,200 employees and operations in more than 36 locations across Pakistan.

ZTE has also played a key role in Pakistan's telecom revolution by successfully undertaking key infrastructure projects, including the recent win of major share in CMPak (China Mobile) expansion.

ZTE is a key supporter of the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority's initiative to promote rapid modernization of the country's telecommunications systems and services. This will ensure the availability of a range of high quality, efficient, cost effective and competitive telecommunication services throughout Pakistan.
