WASHINGTON: The White House has rebuffed calls for a re-run of Iraq`s general elections and denied accusations of fraud in the December 15 vote.

"I don`t think most are suggesting that there needs to be a re-run because it is the belief that the elections were fair. And that is our view as well," White House spokesman Trent Duffy said.

"I think so far the views on the elections in Iraq have been very positive, both by the UN as well as other observers," Duffy told reporters in Crawford, Texas.
