SC asks Hazara DIG to produce Kohistan girls

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has ordered the Hazara DIG to produce today (Thursday) the five girls who have allegedly been murdered after a mobile phone video emerged of their dancing at a wedding along with two boys in a remote village of Kohistan, if they are alive.
On the other hand, the two boys, namely Bin Yasir and Gul Nazar, who allegedly danced with the girls confirmed to the apex court that the girls had been murdered on the decree of the clerics.
However, local police and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government continuously denied the incident had taken place. A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, heard the suo motu case. The chief justice observed that Kohistan incident had brought a bad name to the country and if needed the court would go to Kohistan.
"If these girls are alive then produce them before the bench, otherwise all the senior officers of province should go home and quit their jobs," he remarked.
Prime Minister's Adviser on Interior Rehman Malik appearing before the bench ensured his cooperation in the case. He also stated that he had personally contacted the MNA concerned regarding the matter but he denied the murders.
