Paris building blaze toll rises to 17

PARIS, August 26 (Online): A fire that ripped through an apartment building in Paris killed at least 17 people Friday, firefighters said. Some 22 others were injured, two seriously.
The fire broke out shortly after midnight at a building in southeastern Paris, the fire department said. About 210 firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control on a major boulevard in the city's 13th district, interior ministry said.
