Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Pakistan should stay alert until general elections in India are concluded. PM Khan, during a meeting with editors and owners of media houses, said that Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Narendra Modi’s popularity was rapidly falling in India and in this situation, he could make another misadventure to get political mileage ahead of polls.

Imran Khan said that when he had assumed the office of the prime minister, the country’ economy was on the verge of bankruptcy. He said that due to positive polices, adopted by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s government, situation gradually turned better.

The prime minister said that the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in the beginning, put strict condition for the bailout package but now the situation was different.

He said that Qatar would hire over 100,000 workers from Pakistan. The premier said that proscribed organisations won’t be allowed to operate in Pakistan.

Responding to a question, PM Imran said that Pakistan would receive good news within three weeks.

Earlier, warning of possible Indian mischief, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, on March 16, had said that Pakistan will have to stay alert until general election is over in India.

“We will have to keep guard over our frontiers as everything could be expected from [Indian Prime Minister Narendra] Modi,” he had said while speaking to the media here.

Earlier, in the day, Prime Minister Imran Khan telephoned the prime minister of New Zealand and appreciated her firm stance against rising Islamophobia and global extremism, following the terrorist attack at two Christchurch mosques, in which 50 worshipers lost their lives.

“Prime Minister Arden has shown the way to other leaders in the face of rising Islamophobia and global extremism,” Prime inister Khan said, in a statement issued by the PM Office.

Imran Khan appreciated the quick response of the local authorities, the “humane handling” and compassion of Jacinda Ardern for the Muslims who were in a state of shock after the horrific massacre at their places of worship.

He said he made the telephone call on behalf of the people of Pakistan and “to thank her for her compassion, leadership and decisions that won her many admirers in Pakistan.”

“Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern won the hearts of the people of Pakistan in particular, and Muslim communities around the world, in general, for adept handling of the crisis, her healing words and actions for the Muslim community.”

Imran Khan conveyed his condolences over the loss of 50 precious lives and said Pakistan itself was a victim of terrorism and has lost over 70,000 innocent lives in acts of terrorism.

Arden acknowledged the sacrifices of Pakistanis in the attack, particularly the bravery and valour of Naeem Rasheed, who tried to stop the terrorist but was killed along with his son. She assured that New Zealand while valuing the contribution of the Muslim community, would assure their freedom and protection.
