PPP nominates Qaim Ali Shah as Sindh CM, Durani SA speaker

KARACHI: The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has nominated Qaim Ali Shah to once again become the chief minister of Sindh.
The party reached the decision on Tuesday during a meeting of its parliamentary committee held at Bilawal House with Makhdoom Amin Fahim in the chair. Qaim Ali Shah has served twice as the chief minister of the province and was elected to the Sindh Assembly from PS-29 (Khairpur-I)
Makhdoom Amin Fahim told media persons that the PPP has nominated Agha Siraj Durrani as the speaker of the Sindh Assembly and Shehla Raza as deputy speaker while Nisar Khuhro will be parliamentary leader of the party.
He said initially, the Sindh cabinet would have five ministers — Manzoor Wassan, Nisar Khuhro, Sharjeel Memon, Dr Sikandar Mandhro and Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani. President Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari did not participate in the meeting although both were present in Bilawal House. Like Shahbaz Sharif, Syed Qaim Ali Shah will become the chief minister of a province for a third time.
Amin Faheem hoped that the new government would serve the people of Sindh more than the last time. He said all names were chosen unanimously in the meeting. Meanwhile, Qaim Ali Shah told the media that he will come up to the expectations of the people who voted for the PPP. He said his top priority will be restoration of peace in Karachi.
Agha Siraj and Shehla Raza said that party reposed confidence on them and they will work harder.According to sources, Amin Faheem proposed the name of Syed Qaim Ali Shah while Syed Khurshid Shah proposed the name of Agha Siraj Durrani and Shela Raza for their respective offices.Later, the party MPAs-elect were briefed about the outcome of the meetings with the MQM for government formation.
Party leader Faryal Talpur in her speech advised the newly nominated members to work hard and with honesty and serve the people. He advised the expected ministers to spend most of their time in their respected constituencies; rather then living in Karachi and Islamabad.
She advised the newly nominated CM and others to ensure provision of jobs to people as they given mandate to the PPP to come again with a lot of expectations. Dr Fehmida Mirza also spoke in the meeting.
