ISLAMABAD: The PML-N on Saturday rejected a commission formed by the government to probe the Bhoja airliner crash that killed 127 people.

"It is not a judicial commission, but an investigation commission consisting of blue-eyed people of the government," PML-M leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan told a press conference, adding that his party would challenge the body in court. He said that a judicial commission should consist of sitting judges and it should be formed with the approval of the chief justice.

The government formed a three-member judicial commission on Saturday with Justice (r) Syed Zahid Hussain and Justice (r) Nasim Sikandar as its members.

Nisar also opposed the commission on grounds that the two retired judges had taken oath under PCO. He also came hard on the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) director general, saying that the official was a "close friend" of President Asif Ali Zardari.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said the judicial commission set up by the federal government was a "fraud". In a press release, he said the federal government was trying to hoodwink people.

End.
