ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Lebanon Mr. Fouad Siniora talked to Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on telephone yesterday; appreciated the initiative taken by President General Pervez Musharraf for establishing peace in Middle East and said Lebanon fully supports this move as it can lead to peace in Middle East.

The Lebanese Prime Minister said Pakistan is playing a leading role for promoting peace and conflict resolution at the regional and international level which is a source of pride for the Muslims around the world.

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said Pakistan fully supports the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Lebanon and is keen to see long lasting peace there.

The Prime Minister said resolution of festering disputes in Middle East is vital for regional and global peace stability and Pakistan feels that we need to create unanimity of views among the Muslim countries for early settlement of disputes.

The Lebanese Prime Minister thanked Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz for the consistent support of Pakistan. He said President, Prime Minister and people of Pakistan provided invaluable support to the people and government of Lebanon during their difficult times which will be remembered or all times to come.
