Khalid Anam conferred the Goethe-Institut Merit Award

A consummate master of entertainment for children, Khalen Anam has been recognised for his incessant efforts that span three decades and conferred the Goethe-Institut Award of Merit by the Counsel General of Germany, Dr Tilo Kliner.
Anam is an established name in the industry that signifies pure entertainment and education. He has been associated with Grips Theatre and Goethe-Institut since the past 30 years and made contentious efforts to provide entertainment and educational content for children on media at all levels. His numerous endeavours were well appreciated and won accolades from all quarters of the society, as his programmes are liked by young and old alike.
Currently working on multiple projects, he has once again proved his mettle through a children's infotainment programme, 'The Dumdum Deedee Show', successfully running on PTV. Over 150 episodes have been aired so far with Anam at the helm, creating the concept, writing all the songs, composing music and co-scripting the show.
Doing commendable service to education through media, he also conducts a programme at the Oxford University Books titled, 'Dosti Kitabon Se', to promote reading among children. His adaptations of programmes such as 'Sesame Street' were also highly appreciated as they focused on promoting education among street children of Pakistan. It was a well-deserved merit award that acknowledged his efforts at a time when he is at the peak of his career.
