KARACHI: Famous compere, writer, novelist and columnist Quraishpur passed away here on Monday.

He had joined the Pakistan Television in 1973 as presentation controller and retired in 1992 as the head of the department. He had been the host of popular TV programmes 'Kasauti, 'Sheshay Ka Ghar' and 'Zoq-i-Agahi.'

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of Quraishpur.

He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude.General Manager, Pakistan Television, Karachi Centre, Syed Qaiser Naqi Imam, also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Quraishpur.
