A video got viral on social media where Junaid Jamshed was talking about a sacred personality of Islam. Soon afterwards Junaid Jamshed has apologized for the same video.

However Muhammad Mubeen Qadri who belongs to a religious political party Sunni Tehreek has launched an FIR against Junaid Jamshed under the clause 295C of Pakistan Penal Code.  The clause is commonly known as blasphemy act and it was implemented in 1980’s under the regime of General Ziaul Haque. Since implemented the clause is regularly termed as being misused against minorities and against Muslims as well.

Junaid Jamshed is currently not in Pakistan. In last week a session court in Gilgit Baltistan region sentenced 26 year prison to few media personalities under the same act including Veena Malik, Shaista Lodhi, Asad Khattat and Mir Shakeelur Rehman.
