KARACHI, December 17 (Online): Elaborating government incentives cotton growers and ginning factories Federal Minister for Textile Mushtaq Ali Cheema said implementation on new cotton plan will be started from the next week.

Addressing a reception hosted by Pakistan Ready Made Garments Manufacturers, Exporters Association in his honour at a local hotel on Friday night, he said, government would give additional Rs 50 per maund to those cotton growers who ensure supply of quality cotton.

Additional Rs 30 per maund would be given to these factories where the modern ginning machines are installed, he added.

The Sales Tax was the biggest problem of textile and it has been reduced to zero, he said.

New Labour Law draft has been finalized and soon will be presented to the cabinet for the approval, Cheema informed.

Government wants to settle the issue of refunds to exporters out of court and those who are willing to do that will surely get 90 to 95 percent of the refunds, he said.

State Minister and Chairman Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Tariq Akram, Federal Secretary Textile Masood Alam Rizvi and others also spoke on the occasion.
