ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday issued directives to expedite the projects under Pakistan Housing Programme to achieve the government’s goal of providing affordable accommodation to the common man. Chairing a meeting on Pakistan Housing Programme, the PM reviewed the progress on the ongoing projects.

The PM directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to promote tree plantation in Islamabad and also pay attention to preservation of green areas and forests in particular.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Housing Tariq Bashir Cheema, Secretary Housing Dr Imran Zaib, Chairman CDA and the Director General Housing Ministry.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday said that promotion of science and technology was significant for the country’s future.

He was talking to Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain who called on him in his chamber at the Parliament House. The pm also appreciated the steps taken in the ministry for restructuring and performance.

Separately, MNAs belonging to Balochistan National Party (BNP) called on Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan at his Chamber in Parliament House on Wednesday.

The MNAs included Agha Hassan Baloch, Muhammad Hashim, Muhammad Akhtar Mengal, Professor Shehnaz Baloch and Dr Jahanzeb Jamaldini.

Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak, Deputy Speaker Muhammad Qasim Khan, Adviser of PM Muhammad Shehzad Arbab and Special Asssitant, Nadeem Afzal Chan were also present in the meeting.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr Babar Awan called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday following his acquittal by the accountability court in the Nandipur corruption reference.

Dr Awan had resigned from the post of Adviser to the PM on Parliamentary Affairs in September 2018 after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed reference against him for allegedly causing delays in the Nandipur Power Project.
