Govt again invites Taliban to negotiation table: Malik

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik again inviting Taliban to the negotiating table said if Taliban announce their negotiating team we are ready for talks.
Talking to the media persons here on Saturday Malik said that it seems when Taliban feel they are losing their ground they come up with the offer of dialogue. However the Taliban will have to demonstrate seriousness for talks and first have to surrender their weapons before the negotiations.
Malik said Pakistan will demand handing over of Taliban leader Maulvi Faqir Muhammad from Afghanistan through the Interpol.
He said Maulvi Faqir Muhammad arrested by the Afghan authorities is wanted in different cases in Pakistan and we want his deportation to Pakistan so that action could be initiated against him according to the law of the land.
Interior Minister said the government and the opposition would reach an agreement on the composition of the interim set-up.
Meanwhile, outlawed Tahrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commanders have authorized TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan to hold peace talks with Nawaz Sharif, Maulana Fazlur Rahman and Syed Munawwar Hassan.
According to Media Reports, following this authorization by the high command in a Taliban crucial meeting held in South Waziristan, Ehsanullah Ehsan could anytime make contact with the aforesaid three leaders for peace talks, spokesman said.
