Gilani to lead protest in Shopian tomorrow

Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has announced to lead a public protest in Shopian tomorrow against the killing of a local youth, Aaqib Ahmad by the Indian troops on Tuesday.
The veteran leader in a statement said that he would visit Shopian to express solidarity with the martyr's family.Syed Ali Gilani maintained that India was randomly killing the Kashmiris to intimidate them into submission.
On the other hand, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Gilani, during their separate meetings with Kashmiri Pandits in Srinagar denounced threatening letters to the members of the community, terming them as the handiwork of enemy's agencies and anti-movement elements.
Hurriyet leaders, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in their statements said that the latest killing incidents in Shopian and Bandipora had once again made it clear that India was denying the right to life to the people of Kashmir.
The Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir in a resolution passed by its Shura in Srinagar urged Pakistan and India to take immediate measures to resolve the Kashmir dispute as per the Kashmiris' aspirations.
In London, on the occasion of 2012 Olympic Games, the month-long Kashmir Awareness Campaign —'Torch of Peace' — has been kicked off, today. It is being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front.
