220 head constables, 198 constable of Karachi Police promoted to next rank

KARACHI: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Karachi, Azhar Ali Farooqui, has approved promotion of 220 head constables of Karachi Police to assistant sub-inspectors and 198 constables to head constables here on Sunday. In a statement issued here the CCPO said that the constables and head constables of all branches of Karachi Police, (operation, investigation and traffic ) were promoted on purely merit basis. “In this regard, all records of the qualified candidates for promotion concerning their service, seniority and departmental courses were scrutinized carefully by the member of Departmental Promotion Committee”, he noted. He maintained that the commute after careful and thorough scrutiny and review of the records recommenced the candidates, who were found eligible for the promotion. CCPO said that such candidates, against whom corruption or criminal cases were register, not considered for promotion. However, he said, such candidates, who deemed themselves fit for promotion may appeal to him, adding that then he personally considered their cases and take any decision on it.
