On August 16, 2012, seven heavily armed militants stormed the Pakistan Air Force's (PAF) Minhas airbase at Kamra during the early hours, sparking an intense gun battle lasting almost five hours. The militants were said to be armed with automatic weapons, grenades and suicide vests.

The possible aim of the attack could be to cause damage to the parked aircraft of Pakistan Air Force or to hold the personnel present at the base hostage. The attack is similar to that of Karachi Naval Base, PNS Mehran which took place on May 22, 2011. The militants had killed several Naval personnel besides destroying two P-3C Orion aircraft.

1:- Why the security forces did not take pre-emptive measures as they had already an Intelligence reports of such attacks?

2:- Do you think, such attack on PAF Kamra Airbase could not occur if the investigation reports of PNS and GHQ terrorists attacks had been made public?

3:- Who is responsible for this attack, foreign agencies or TTP?
