LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said his party will take out a rally and stage a sit-in against the price hike at any cost today to express support with the nation.

Talking to reporters, the PTI chief said the Mall Road of Lahore is not the property of any Mughal king, adding that party supporters will reach the Mall to stage a protest which is a democratic right of every citizen. He warned the Punjab government against creating hurdles in the way of holding a peaceful rally.

Imran said he was well aware of the troubles faced by the people and the party workers will take to the streets and stage a sit-in to express solidarity with them.

The PTI chief said the PML-N-led government had aggravated the troubles of the people who will come out of their houses against the government.

About the PML-N criticism of the KP government, Imran said the people were suffering from the wrong decisions of the federal government, saying that the federal government had devalued the Pakistani currency, not the KP government.

Online adds: Imran said the PML-N-led government had failed to control the price hike, saying the PML-N government came into power after striking a deal with the US.

He said Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid was behaving like the US State Department spokesperson.

He said the US would not leave Afghanistan even after the Nato forces pull out and it would have a UAV programme for 10 years.

Imran said the Sharif brothers were introducing schemes for the benefit of tax evaders and such schemes would increase the burden of taxes on the salaried class.

He said investors would not come to Pakistan until peace is restored in the country.

He said black money could not bring peace to the country.

Imran will himself lead the rally and address the participants outside the Punjab Assembly building.

Reportedly, the Punjab government was considering not stopping the PTI from its staging rally on the Mall.

The PTI activists have decorated the city with banners and are inviting the people to join the protest.

End.
