President appoints Justice Hamid Ali Mirza, Ghulam Rabbani appoints as SC judges

ISLAMABAD: President General Pervez Musharraf has appointed Justice Hamid Ali Mirza and Justice Ghulam Rabbani as Supreme Court’s judges for six months. Both the judges would take oath today (Thursday). Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Chaudhary would administer the oath. Justice Karamat Nazeer Bhandari has left the charge after expiration of his ad hoc tenure on Wednesday while the ad hoc tenure of Justice Hamid Ali Mirza has also ended on Wednesday but he has been appointed as ad hoc judge for more 6 months by President Musharraf. Justice Ghulam Rabbani of Sindh High Court has been appointed as ad hoc judge in place of Justice Karamat Nazeer Bhandari. The number of judges in Supreme Court after inclusion of these two ad hoc judges would be 19.
