Musharraf directs Punjab Govt to present report regarding gang rape case in Lia

ISLAMABAD: President General Pervez Musharraf has expressed his annoyance over non-arrest of accused involved in a gang rape with a 15 year old girl in a village of District Lia for more than three months and directed the Punjab Government to present report till April 10 after completing the investigations. According to the details, Asian Human Rights Association Hong Kong released a report which narrating a horrible story of gang rape of a 15 year old girl by some influential persons in Paych Musawa Anarwala on January 30. After releasing report of Asian Human Rights, President Musharraf had taken stern notice of the issue and questioned the Punjab government regarding not registering the case and not arrested accused involved in this act. Sources said that the Punjab Government asked to present the report after completing the investigations till April 10 and taken to task the accused. It is pertinent to mention that the President House is regularly monitoring incidents committing against women and the President himself is taking notice of such issues. The report of Asian Human Rights Association said that two MPAs' named Ijaz Ahmad and Fazal Soomro are behind the accused and also pressurizing girl's parents to withdraw case. The report said that four persons raped the gird for four days and SHO of Police Station Kot Sultan refused to register the case. Later application was filed in Session Court for registering the case which summoned SHO who said that no such incident was happened. The court has ordered to examine the girl from District Hospital Lia in which it was proved that the girl was gang raped. MS Malik Nisar Jhakar who is close relative of the one accused tried to change the report The report of Asian Human Rights Association said that President Musharraf received the report on March 16 who after taking immediate action ordered to inquire the incident and sought the report from the Punjab Government.
