The premier telephoned the Army chief General Raheel Sharif in the wake of a suicide bombing near the General Headquarters (GHQ) and discussed the overall national security situation with him.Sources said the prime minister and army chief expressed concern over the sudden rise in the incidents of terror.

The premier condemned the RA Bazaar blast that resulted in the killing of security personnel and many others. He said such cowardly attacks could never weaken the resolve of 'our law-enforcement agencies and the nation to continue their struggle against militancy and terrorism'.

The premier urged the nation to unite against the enemies of Pakistan. He said the whole nation was united on the issue of terrorism, adding that the sacrifices of security forces for the country and the nation would not go waste.
