Ali Boumnijel had to wait to get his chance to establish himself as the Tunisian number one.
Chokri El Ouaer managed over 100 caps before retiring to allow Boumnijel his opportunity and he has gone on to win over 40 caps.
He will be 40 when the World Cup gets under way and, not surprisingly, will be his last major competition.
Having made his international debut in 1991 he then had to wait five years for his next appearance.
Boumnijel has played the majority of his club football in France at Gueugnon, Nancy, Bastia - where he played for six seasons - and Rouen before moving back home to Club Africain in 2005.
Voted Africa's best goalkeeper in 2004 after helping his sdie to their first success in the African Cup of Nations two years ago.
