Profile:
A tough-tackling holding midfielder, Albert Nadj has been forced to endure a series of disappointments in international football. He made his debut for Yugoslavia in December 1994, but was left out of the squad for the 1998 World Cup and spent most of Euro 2000 on the bench. He then spent four years in the international wilderness and, although he has won a handful of caps in the past two seasons, he is travelling to Germany 2006 only as cover for Igor Duljaj. The 31-year-old has also endured an up and down club career, winning three league titles with Partizan before a disappointing six-year spell in Spain with Real Betis, Real Oviedo and Elche. He returned to Partizan in 2002 and has since picked up two more title winners' medals.
