Obama: Good or Bad for Pakistan?
10 November, 2008
"In one of the more heated moments of one presidential debate, Mr. Obama, the then Democratic presidential nominee, argued that he would take the war to Osama bin Laden`s cave door, whether Pakistan cooperated or not. In plain words what Mr. Obama was proclaiming was that he would not shy away from striking inside Pakistan. These are the kind of words that can spell disaster for Pakistan and the region. Critics also say that the US under Obama is likely to crack the whip, much more sharply than what the Bush administration has done in the past few months, even as it dangles the carrot. While counter-critics say that after a few briefings as the President of United States about the ground situation in FATA, President Obama is sure to sober up."
