RAWALPINDI, March 18 (Online): Chief of Tanzeem ul Madaris Ahl-e-Sunnah Pakistan (TMAS) , Mufti Munib ur Rehman has called for convening emergency meeting of OIC in Madina to take firm steps on blasphemous cartoon issue.
He was addressing " Tahaffaz-e- Namoos-e- Risalat conference held here Friday on 6th road under TMAS. Allama Syed Hussain ud Din Shah presided over the conference. Pir Muhammad Naqib ur Rehman and other Ulema also spoke on the occasion.
Mufti Munib ur Rehman noted that Ummah was standing on one side and rulers were standing on the opposite side on the issue of publication of sacrilegious cartoon.
The publication of blasphemous sketches has triggered anguish among the Muslim Ummah, he said adding these drawings were deliberately published by the west. EU and US came out open to back this conspiracy in the name of freedom of expression, he added.
He alleged that gherao jalao acts had started ahead of commencement of rally in Lahore. The responsibility of rally in no way rests with the organizers of rally and it is a sheer terror act, he added.
