ISLAMABAD: The leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and Jamiat-Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have in principle agreed to seat-adjustment arrangement and initially talks between both the parties would soon be held to discuss seat-adjustment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A source in the PML-Q told APP that PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain had contacted JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman for this purpose and both the leaders had agreed in principle to the idea.

"However, as the Maulana has launched a mass contact drive across the Country. It has been agreed that initially the matters would be discussed between Syed Qasim Shah, the president of KP chapter of the PML-Q and Akram Khan Durrani of the JUI-F," said the source.

The source added that PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain wanted to bring all the likeminded political parties on a single platform to get the country out of the crises. He said that for the same purpose, Ch Shujaat was also in touch with the leaders of some other politico-religious parties including Jamaat-e-Islami, Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) and the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA).

Moreover, the source added Shujaat was also contacting the leaders of Sunni Tehreek and some other political parties. When contacted, Deputy Secretary Information of PML-Q Ghulam Mustafa Malik confirmed the contact between Ch Shujaat and Maulana Fazlur Rehman and said that the PML-Q chief was in touch with many politicians with an objective to muster maximum political strength for the party's cause. He said that Shujaat believed that no single political party could resolve the predicament faced by the country.

In order to get the country out of the challenging situation, the PML chief thought that a collective effort was required, Ghulam Mustafa said.

End.
