Shaukat Aziz telephones Bahrain, Morocco PMs amid Pak-Israel contacts

ISLAMABAD, September 11(Online): Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz Saturday telephoned to Prime Minister of Bahrain Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa and Prime Minister of Morocco Driss Jetto.
Briefing the two leaders on the meeting between the foreign minister Pakistan and foreign minister Israel in Istanbul on September 1. He said Pakistan made its first ever official contact with Israel after Jewish state vacated Gaza strip as its significant step in the Middle East peace process. "Pakistan believed that its meeting would encourage the Israelis to take further positive steps for the resolution of the Middle East", he added.
Reaffirmed Pakistan's principal position on Palestinian issue, the Prime Minister underlined that it remain unchanged and the recognition of Israel would be dependent on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.
The Bahraini and Moroccan Prime Ministers appreciated the briefing and Pakistan position's in support for the Middle East cause. End.
