QUETTA: The provincial chief of the Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP), Shahzain Bugti, was taken to Sandeman Hospital for treatment on Monday after having some breathing problem. The grand son of late Akbar Bugti was brought amid tight security. However, he was sent back to the prison after given necessary medical care.

“We have taken several medical tests of Shahzain and after reports we will be able to comment on this issue,” doctors at Sandeman Hospital told reporters. The Deputy Medical Superintendent, Dr Farid Sumalani, said Shahzain had complained about breathing problem and stomach disorder. Separately, a bail plea for Shahzain and 26 other co-accused was filed in the Balochistan High Court on Monday.

The hearing on the bail application will take place today (Tuesday). Earlier, an additional district and sessions judge had rejected the bail application of Shahzain and 26 others.

Talking to reporters, Shahzain said if his bail plea was rejected by LHC, then he would file a petition in the Supreme Court. “It was good to hear that Sui cantonment had been converted into an educational city,” he said and hoped that the security forces would soon withdraw from Dera Bugti.

End.
