Shah Mahmood Qureshi talked with Denmark-Norwegian FM over kashmir issue

Pakistan on Wednesday urged Denmark to play its role and impress upon India to lift the curfew and ameliorate the hardships and sufferings of the people in the occupied Kashmir valley, Radio Pakistan reported.
In a telephonic conversation, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Denmark Foreign Minister Jeppe Sebastian Kofod discussed the current situation in Held Kashmir. The foreign minister briefed his Danish counterpart on India’s illegal and unilateral actions to change the disputed status of the occupied valley and its demographic structure. He apprised the Danish foreign minister of the deteriorating human rights and humanitarian situation, including severe shortage of basic necessities of life such as food and medicines, and a complete communications blackout.
The Danish foreign minister said his country is following the situation with grave concern. He said Denmark fully supports the statements of the UN secretary general and the EU high representative on the issue of Kashmir.
Jeppe Sebastian Kofod urged both India and Pakistan to enter into a dialogue and desist from any actions that may further escalate the situation. He underlined that any further deterioration in the situation can have devastating consequences. The two leaders agreed to continue to work together for peace and stability in the region.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a telephonic conversation with Norwegian Foreign Minister Ine Marie Eriksen Soreide to discuss the illegal actions by India in the occupied valley. The foreign minister briefed his Norwegian counterpart on the unilateral steps taken by the Indian government in order to consolidate its illegal occupation of the valley. He said the measures taken by India are against the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council on Jammu and Kashmir and the international law.
