LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday asked Sheikh Rashid Ahmed to resign from his National Assembly seat, in pursuance of his claim regarding dollar depreciation.

Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed had stated that he would resign from his NA seat, if dollar was dropped down to Rs98 mark. Sanaullah said Rashid should now hold on his promise and resign accordingly.

Regarding protest of lady health workers, the minister said some of the demands of protesting nurses require legislation, while other demands had already been met.

To a question regarding local government elections, Sanaullah said Election Commission of Pakistan will require a period of eight to 10 months for carrying out delimitations. "LG elections can also be conducted earlier if delimitations made by the Punjab government are accepted," added the minister.

End.
